I think we are all too aware that something or someone is really out there. We believe in the possibility of omnipresence and during times of need, we depend in that possibility.
“The Bible teaches: God is Spirit (John 4:24)” (cogwriter). I think that having someone to fall back to is a luxury we like to have. We want a scapegoat to the wrong choices we make or the misfortunes that have befallen on us. And so, God is that luxury we like to have when things go wrong. When the weather is nice and calm, the holy name is forgotten in the wind.
