Come and Gone
The field was paved, parked with numerous cars, too many to leisurely count. The trees were trimmed until the leaves no longer painted the brown trunks with vibrant greens. The heels of both men and women clunked on the ground like the pendulum’s swings.
The days that drifted off. The moments lost from uncertainty. The hidden tears of a forgotten dream. The car keys jingling. The crows calling out.
The cars whiz by one by one with each passing second like the hear beats wasted on waiting for yesterday to return. The sun rises and sets. There is a strong wind as the night rushes to replace the morning of today. Doors open and slammed close. They walk away, their heads cast down.
Another day has come and gone.
